What services do you provide?

Will my child be seen by a pediatrician at Legacy Pediatrics?

Our staff includes pediatricians and physician assistants with pediatric experience.

How is Legacy Pediatrics different from other pediatric practices in Fayetteville?

Legacy Pediatrics was born through a collaboration between Dr. Ana Hodges and Dr. Pierre Lemaster. Although Dr. Lemaster has since retired, we continue his legacy of commitment to the children and families of Fayetteville and Cumberland County. Our philosophy is to provide the highest quality medical care in a family-friendly environment. Our goal at Legacy Pediatrics is to foster long-lasting relationships with our patients and their families through continued cooperation, trust, and mutual respect. We treat every child as our own.

What hours are you open?

Monday-Thursday: 8 AM - 4:30 PM, Fridays: 8 AM -12 PM. We are closed daily from 12 PM to 1 PM. Holidays Observed: Good Friday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day & Black Friday, Christmas Day, New Years Day.

Do you offer walk-in hours at Legacy Pediatrics?

Legacy Pediatrics does not have walk-in hours. We do have daily availability for appointments for minor concerns. Please call as early as possible to get a same-day appointment.

How long is the wait time at Legacy Pediatrics?

Our wait times vary but most patients are seen within 30 minutes after registration and insurance verification.

What insurances do you take?

Legacy Pediatrics is contracted with most insurance plans including NC Medicaid’s 5 health plans, HealthChoice, and TRICARE - both Prime and Select. Please feel free to contact our office at (910) 483-2646 (main) or (910) 339-6015 (Spring Lake) to check if we accept your insurance plan.

What if my child needs to be admitted to the hospital?

Legacy Pediatrics will arrange for your child to be admitted to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Most children are transported to the hospital by private vehicle, but we can arrange ambulance transport if necessary. Depending on your child’s condition, you may be directed to the hospital emergency room or directly to the floor for admission.

Can I get advice over the phone?

If you have a medical question about your child, please call our office. One of our nursing providers will return your call. You may be asked to make an appointment to have your child seen if necessary.

Do you perform vaccinations or well-child check-ups?

Legacy Pediatrics follows the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations for well-child care. We believe regular preventative visits are important for the well-being of your child.

Where will I get my prescriptions filled?

In most cases, we will prescribe the prescription to the pharmacy of your choice within 2 hours of leaving the clinic.

How can I get my child’s prescription refilled?

Refills for chronic medications can be requested through our online patient portal. If you do not have access credentials for our online patient portal, please contact our office at (910) 483-2646 (Main) or (910) 339-6015 (Spring Lake) to get more information.

Can I meet my pediatrician before my baby is born?

The staff at Legacy Pediatrics encourage all families to schedule a prenatal “Hi Visit” prior to delivery. We would love to meet you and let you get to know us!

I am delivering at Cape Fear Valley.  How do I notify the hospital that I have chosen Legacy Pediatrics as my child’s pediatrician?

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center will ask you to choose a pediatrician as you get admitted to Labor and Delivery. Please tell them you have chosen us, and we will see your infant in the hospital after delivery.

How often do children need well exams/physicals?

Legacy Pediatrics schedules exams for children as follows: 2 days/2 weeks/1,2,4,6,9,12,15,18 months/2,3,4,5 years/yearly to every other year from ages 5 to 18.

Can more than 1 child from the same family be seen for wellness checks at the same time?

Legacy providers will see two children from each family for WELL visits at one time.

Can kindergarten, sports physical or asthma forms be completed at the time of the wellness check?

All forms needed for wellness checks are typically completed at the time of the visit. Please bring the original copies obtained from school with you to the visit.
